In LA there is one medical marijuana dispensary per region supplied by 2 farms in this state. The cost of medicating when I last checked was $105 for .5g before taxes. At that price I cannot afford to keep myself as comfortable as I have become accustomed and mastered while living in CA for the last 3 1/2 years using medical marijuana and hash products for all of my injuries.

Also it wouldn’t touch the amount of inflammation, pain, anxiety, depression, appetite support, and help make me complacent to living a groundhog day movie life, it’s an overwhelming amount to deal with daily on top of surviving and all the other layers involved in this chapter of my life.

I can go thru a gram in 4-5 days on a light energy schedule. The more I do, the higher my pain level therefore increases the amount of THC/CBD necessary to make me comfortable. I live with pain in various places all day everyday. Only almost pain free in a warm CBD bath.

After paying $149 and getting approved for the medical mj card, you are told that a pharmacist will call you. When he did, he said to me,”You know more about this than I do. What do you need me for?” I told him “I was told I had to talk to you. I don’t know.” We laughed, wished each other well, and hung up. *I am following your rules people. 😂*

The Easy Cannabis Cookbook by Cheri Sacard is the book I mentioned. I just made my first delicious batch of canna vegan butter in the crockpot, so easy. I used 8 tablespoons in a batch of special cocoa oat almond butter no bake cookies that I keep in the freezer. So super tasty.

One day bored in CA, I googled rolled oat cookie recipes, found one on, maybe Food Network, and turned it vegan. I only use organic products.

Organic Vegan Almond Butter Chocolate No Bake Freezer Cookies

Bring to a boil on medium heat, stir occasionally, let boil one minute. ⬇️

2 cups coconut sugar
Heaping 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 almond or coconut milk
1 stick = 8 tbsp vegan unsalted (last batch was canna) butter

Take mixture and pour into a bowl that contains *I mix this together before I start boiling the other mixture*
3 cups rolled oats
1 tbsp vanilla
1 cup smooth almond butter
A large pinch of salt

Mix then
ADD whatever nuts (I’ve used walnuts and pumpkin seeds), dark chocolate chips, or dried fruit (I’ve used dried cranberries)

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or/and use muffin cups to make larger cookies and put in the freezer for 20-30 minutes depending on thickness. Transfer to air tight containers. I am not sure how long they will last. I use mine as medicine for pain.

Should taste chocolaty fudge-like & chewy, they do melt in your hand if you wait too long to eat.

*I have to be careful, they require more chewing than a regular cookie due to the oats which causes more pain due to TBI and TMJ.*

*With a brain injury cold food is my closest friend to manage pain. It’s like an ice pack from the inside. I have migraine ice caps that I use on bad days that have icepacks on the outside of my head. I make fruit popsicles with chopped apples, oranges (delicious frozen), berries of all sorts, and coconut water*

I had rolled oats that I received from the brain injury program that needed to be eaten. I don’t like to waste food. In 2021, when I received the oats it puzzled me because I learned at the end of 2018 from my wonderful acupuncturist who put me on an anti-inflammatory diet with oats at the top of the list. I immediately cut out the oatmeal cups I made a habit of eating for breakfast before work.

I am still not sure what the deal is with oats and inflammation. I mix steel cut oats into my chia pudding because I don’t like the texture without them. I really enjoy the cookies ⬆️ with rolled oats. Please let me know what you think.
